About Hatch

Two shops on the Dublin coast that read differently once you're inside.

The pastry case at Glasthule: gingerbread biscuits, coconut and lemon bars, carrot cake, croissants and more, each on its own hand-written label.

Hatch in Glasthule keeps to coffee and pastries: no brunch menu, a tight counter, and a pastry case with each item on its own hand-written label. Cups are matte black, printed with a small leaf-and-stem mark above the word HATCH, stacked next to two Victoria Arduino bean hoppers behind the counter.

Blackrock is the one with the kitchen and the fuller menu. It carries a full breakfast, brunch and lunch menu alongside coffee, and dogs are welcome inside. The same gold serif HATCH lettering is on the window here too, above a jam jar of wildflowers and a glass Kalita Wave dripper on the counter, filter coffee within reach as well as espresso.

Both shops open and close at exactly the same time, seven days a week, and neither publishes a phone number.
